Srivakeesan Sriranganathan is the Communication and Public Relation Officer of Noolaham Foundation and joined in October 2014. He is managing all aspects of communication strategies in new and existing programs/projects from start to finish and be the single point of contact for all communication and publication related activities in coordination with programme manager and dedicated director of the foundation. He also contributing in coordination with management, create innovative reports or document to penetrate into the relevant market segment of NF. His responsible is to update relevant data and information in the system, web page, newsletters, writings, and other publications. Srivakeesan had previously served as researcher of the foundation from October 2014 – December 2014, Under the project of Unwritten Laws and Practices and, their influences on the community and human rights in Jaffna’. In addition he had conducted many awareness creation events among the community base organizations and involved in the documentation of the relevant materials of this research project.
Srivakeesan was born in Thirunelvely East, Jaffna, Sri Lanka in 1988. He is a Bachelor of Arts and Culture (Hons) degree holder from Eastern University, Sri Lanka in 2013. He specialist in Drama and Theatre. And he followed a subject of Library and Information Science, and a research study in “Mentality Transformation for Elders, living in elders’ homes through performances” in his degree Programme. Besides his degree, he has completed the diploma in Microsoft Office at hyperlink computer education centre and he followed an English Language course in British Council, Jaffna. He had his primary and secondary education at St. John’s College Jaffna where he has served as a prefect, student manager at Hatton National Bank students savings unit, president of Tamil union and secretary of Agriculture Science club and Hindu union.
Also he engaged the film appreciation project of Centre for Sri Lankan Studies and he involved programmes with indigenous peoples in Sri Lanka through ‘Third Eye Local Knowledge and developing skills group’, Sri Lanka for more than four years (2011-2015). He participated as a coordinator in Japan foundation’s workshop of “Randooga” in Sri Lanka for the project of ‘Cultivating culture for harmony and Peace’. And he served as coordinator “Madai” (Festival of Traditional Art and Artists) project organized by the department of Hindu Cultural Affairs, Sri Lanka.
His research interests about the “Trend of the Sri Lankan Tamils traditional theatre after 1950s”, and currently he is functioning with School of Drama and Theatre under Dr. Kulanthai M. Shanmugalingam and he is participating with Theshiya Kalai Illakkiya Peravai’s activities in Jaffna. He had published two research paper in ‘performances for the elders’ at final year student’s research forum of Fine Arts department of Eastern University, Sri Lanka on 2014 and in ‘Koothu as community cohesiveness theatre’ at above venue on 2013. And he is also writing articles and reviews on local news papers and electronic medias too.
He is presently located in Jaffna.
