An Introductory Event to Digital Library and E- Pallikoodam Programs at Hatton

An introductory event about the Noolaham digital library and Pallikkoodam programs of the Noolaham Foundation was held at C.W.F hall in Hatton in collaboration with Paakkia Printers on 23rd of February, 2014 between 10.00 AM to 1.00PM. Mr. Seran Sivananthamoorthy, Mr. Mayuran Sivanathan , Mr. Nanthakumar Theivendiran and Mr. Saravanan Kanagaratnam represented Noolaham Foundation at this event. “Uthayam” welfare society, Ambaegamuwa Divisional Youth Forum, and Tamil Cultural Council of Malaiyaham also participated in this event.

Mr. Seran Sivananthamoorthy delivered the introductory note on the Noolaham Foundation. Digital Library Introduction was given By Mayuran Sivanathan, and Pallikoodam Program & LMS Introduction were presented by Mr. Nanthakumar Theivendiran. Thelivaththai Joseph appreciated the services of Noolaham Founadation towards the Sri Lankan Tamil speaking community in the array of archiving and documenting knowledge resources.

On this event, documentation collection of Upcountry books were gifted to the school and public library participants in the form of compact disc (CD) and printed books. Further, a prefatory speech by Mr. Thilakar Myilvaganam was given to the novel books which were written by Thelivaththai Joseph and to the poet Al. Asmaths’ book “Aruvadai kanavugal”.

The event was congregated with nearly hundred characteristic of participants especially from the school teachers and writers who gained scenic values of the digital lidrary and E- pallikkodam programs of Noolaham Foundation. As well as it has been identified as the cellar point in which Noolaham Foundation has broaden their networking and collaboration in the Upcountry regions for archiving, supporting, developing, and processing of knowledge and Information services through the open access facilities for educational prosperity to Tamil speaking communities. As more, it can be said that the technological and standards of Noolaham Foundations’ programs which will enhance the new ventures in the virtual learning platforms to Sri Lankan Tamil speaking communities including upcountry people.
