As many of us are aware of, the OMI mission of Sri Lanka has been actively engaged in a great number of social welfare activities all over the country for a long period of time. The collaboration between the mission and Noolaham Foundation on projects of similar interest has been effective for some years. The OMI library in ‘Thodarpaham’ in Jaffna has been a source of a great number of document and educational wealth for the needs digitalization and the ‘Endangered Archive’ project undertaken by the Noolahm Foundation. Thereby there existed a good relationship between the Noolaham Foundation and the OMI missionary.

As part of its service to society, the mission had taken steps to open a new library in Kilinochchi in the name of ‘Lebra Library’. The opening ceremony of the library was held on 16.02.2012 at ‘Annai Illam’ in Kilinochchi. Noolaham Foundation was invited to the event and a member of the Library Science Advisory Committee of Noolaham Foundation Mrs.Imelda Karunakaran – Librarian, Jaffna Public Library, Director of Noolaham Foundation S. Seran, volunteers of Noolaham Foundation J. Ladeslous, S. Umadharan, T.Sinthusan took part in the event. At this function, Noolaham Foundation submitted a collection of documents belonging to periods prior to 1981 digitized by the organization to the Library. By similar joint ventures with non-profit organizations, Noolaham Foundation looks forward to extending its services.
