Digital library for Advanced Level Students

Project Period: October 1, 2012 - March 31, 2013
Project Target: Exam papers / model papers, textbooks, teacher's guide, syllabus for each subject
Description: Volunteers in resource team for each districts are involving in collecting materials in their respective districts. Particular number of schools and zonals have provided exam papers, textbooks and teacher's guides. Resource collection happens in Jaffna, Trincomalee, Mannar, Vavuniya districts.

Collaboration of Advanced Level Model Examinations

Project Target: Widely spreading the pallikoodam initiative to the tamil speaking students
Description: As the project reaches to the final stage of first phase, there kicks in the need for an introduction program. As a result of this, Pallikoodam project has decided to work with University of Moratuwa, Engineering Tamil Students who came up with the idea of conducting a model examination for advanced level students in bio and maths stream. Through collaborating with this set of talented youths for their mission, Pallikoodam initiative is to be spread widely. The examination covers more areas including Trincomalee, Mannar, Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Batticaloa, Ampara, Kandy, Mullaitivu and Colombo.

Collaboration of Ordinary Level Seminar Series

Project Target: Introducing Moodle Platform to student communities
Description: Pallikkoodam program joins hand with Tamil Students of Uva Wellassa University with the purpose of conducting a seminar series to prepare ordinary level students for the general examinations on this December. Uva Wellassa university Tamil students conducted this seminars covering most remote regions where Tamil speaking students sit for general exams. Additionally Moodle platform, which is being implemented was introduced to make them aware of this. More than 4000 students were participated in this seminar series and schedule has been made so that the duration was October 10, 2013 - October 27, 2013. Seminar series was held in 44 centres with 103 schools represented from 11 Districts.

Collaboration with Visions Global Empowerment aiming the initiation of moodle

Project Target: Initiating an active moodle and introducing to student communities
Description: As a large amount of resources have been digitized, it is the time to organize them and let them be accessed by our targeted student communities. Visions Global Empowerment, a non-profit organisation which motivates children through education development programs, joins hand through collaborating with this project. Six month long project aims at initiating moodle with already digitized resources, creating active forums, introduction sessions and facilitating students with question bank. With the successful completion of this project, students will have a platform which can help them to start learning themselves without depending on external resources or person. Project tasks are being carried out at newly opened Pallikoodam program office at Kaddapirai, Jaffna.
