Thiruvarangan is member of Regulatory Board and Research and Documentation team.
Thiruvarangan is from Vaddukoddai, Sri Lanka. He had his primary and secondary education at Jaffna College, Vaddukoddai (1991-1995 & July 1997- 2004) and Vavuniya Tamil MMV (1996 - June 1997), and obtained a BA special degree in English from the University of Peradeniya in 2009 and an MA in English from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2013. Thiruvarangan worked as a Temporary Instructor in English at the University of Peradeniya (July 2009-January 2010) and later as an Assistant Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Jaffna till he left for the USA in August 2011. He is currently reading for a PhD in English at the Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY). He worked as a Teaching Associate at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst between August 2011 and May 2013 and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Graduate Center, CUNY from August 2013 to May 2014. Thiruvarangan will be joining Queens College, CUNY in August 2014 as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
Thiruvarangan’s academic interests lie in the areas of Post-Marxism and Radical Democracy, Subaltern Studies, Postcolonial and Transnational Literature and Culture. His undergraduate dissertation was on Home and Homeland: The Politics of Narrating the Exodus of 1995.
He is presently located in Woodside, Queens, New York.
