Mission

Document and preserve all spheres of knowledge related to Sri Lankan Tamil speaking communities and make accessible to all.

Objectives

  • Engage in and support preservation and digital archiving of written, print, multi-media and electronic resources related to Sri Lankan Tamil speaking communities.
  • Document, preserve and digitally archive ethnography and knowledge bases such as dialects, belief systems, myths, rituals, folklore, games, indigenous medicine, law and administrative systems, technologies and arts of mainstream and marginalized communities.
  • Provide knowledge and information services to ensure free and open access thereby support educational, research and development endeavors related to Sri Lankan Tamil speaking communities.
  • Build communities of practice, processes, technologies and standards of archival, library information sciences through communication, networking and collaboration.

Organizational details

Noolaham Foundation divided into main seven divisions. Executive, Programs, Technology, Network, Community, Communication and Finance are seven main divisions and each division is further divided into various sections.

The Executive Team, Program Team, Technology Team, Network Team, Community Team, Communication Team, Finance Team and many other volunteers contributes towards the activities of the Foundation. The Noolaham Board of Trustees is the ultimate corporate authority in the Foundation, and has the power to make strategic decisions.

The Advisory Board is a network of experts who have agreed to give the Noolaham Foundation meaningful help on a regular basis in many different areas. Their abilities, experience, and knowledge were selected for how they complement a particular Noolaham Foundation project, or the organization as a whole.

Noolaham Foundation is registered as a non-profit organization and the Articles of Association of the Foundation outlines the basic standards. Additions, changes and other important activities are conducted by passing Resolutions. Various policies are created as guidelines for Noolaham activities.

Transparency

The Noolaham Foundation is one of the most transparent non-profit organizations. For updates about our program activities and our Annual Report, see the other links on this page. Additionally, we provide the following information:

  • Core financial information. On the Annual Report page and Donate page, you will find financial statements, donations and Expences.
  • Meeting minutes and outcomes. The Noolaham Board of Trustees is the ultimate corporate authority in the Noolaham Foundation. On the Executives Meeting and resolutions pages, you will find information about its decisions.
  • Policies and procedures. Beyond key policies publish all other key policies governing Noolaham Foundation operations.
