Professor Macbool Alimmohamed Nuhman (M. A. Nuhman) is one of the Patron of Noolaham Foundation. He has served in the Noolaham Foundation advisory board since the foundation was established.
He was born in 1944 in Ampara, Srilanka. He obtained his PhD in Linguistics at the Annamalai University, India.
He worked as a lecturer in Tamil and Linguistics at the University of Jaffna from 1976 to 1990 and Professor of Tamil, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He worked as an academic consultant at the South Eastern University and the Open University of Sri Lanka. He was a Visiting Professor at the Tamil University in India and the University of Malaya, Malaysia. As a linguist, poet, literary critic and translator, he has published thirty books that include Marxism and Literary Criticism (1985), Communication, Language and Modernization (1993), Language and Literature (2006), A contrastive Grammar of Tamil and Sinhala Noun Phrase (2000), Lankan Mosaic: Translation of Sinhala and Tamil Short Stories (Co Ed. 2002) and Sri Lankan Muslims: Ethnic Identity within Cultural Diversity (2007).
He is located in Kandy, Srilanka.
