What is Noolaham Foundation?
Noolaham Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization founded to provide enhanced access to information sources and foster knowledge-based development in Sri Lanka. It is a registered organization (GA 2390) based in Sri Lanka with volunteer participation from all over the world.
Which projects do you support?
The Foundation supports
- Digital library and digital preservation initiatives
- Awareness raising related to information literacy, knowledge management, digital preservation, open access etc.
- Related research and development activities
How is the Foundation governed and what is the decision making process?
The board of Trustees, Associate members and many other volunteers contribute towards the activities of the Foundation.
The Noolaham Board of Trustees is the ultimate authority in the Noolaham Foundation, and has the power to direct the activities of the Foundation.
How can I contribute to the Foundation?
You may
- Provide source materials
- Make monetary donations
- Edit the Noolaham Digital Library and this site to add more details.
- Organise digitizing projects
- Participate in the managment of Noolaham Foundation, and its programs

How are the donations spent?
The monetary donations are used to
- Maintain Noolaham digital library (by providing grants)
- Support digitizing initiatives such as Project Noolaham and Suvadi digital library
- Carry out projects such as Knowledge Network and Project Periodicals
- Pay for Foundation related expenses such as printing of Annual reports and postage
- Reimburse related expenses such as communication expenses of volunteers

What are the challenges Foundation faces?
- As any other organization, we have limited resources. Providing continueous access have significant recurring costs.
- We require high technical expertise. If we do not keep up with the technology we face technological obsolescence.
- Our processes need improvement.
- We have to handle censorship, and political interference issues.
